SIR BIG SPUR COCK TALES

Greetings Chicken Fans,

Just a short introductory tale as we anxiously await the start of football season.  Soon, I'll be sitting on that miniature goal post on the sideline at Williams-Brice hours after my bedtime and watching as Spurrier and the boys begin the season of promise.

My plan is to provide the fans perspectives on games, other fans and sideline happenings from my view.  As you know, I am small but my heart is loyal and brave.  I will fight to death when provoked on my turf or on strange ground.  I have been seriously provoked for years and last football season still sticks in my craw.  However, since then, that regional baseball tournament in Raleigh is an even fresher spur in my flesh.  Those fans failed to understand that good fans (like Gamecocks) pull for their team always and not against the other boys (unless possibly those fashionably unconscious orange ones).  Those boys from the state college of North Carolina had bad things to say about our diamond boys, their coach and even Spurrier's golf game!

Let's show those Tobacco Road "fans" some Southern hospitality, true sportsmanship and a sad, long ride home.

Until then, may the boys practice hard and be prepared to battle like a GAMECOCK.
